Daylight casts shadows

November 26, 2013

Someone said to me: ” A friend who is a psychiatrist says that people actually do grieve more deeply for lost pets, because it is one of the very few genuinely unconditional loves we will know in our lifetimes.

If you’re lucky, and I was, I had that love from my parents and Laurie. It’s great when you receive it too–and give it.

I always marvel at seeing older people and how I know they have lost friends, parents, siblings, and yet, they continue on, laughing, trying help others, and living a bright life for others and themselves instead of being overtaken by the shadows.
